Skips Tailored to Your Shaft Requirements
Nordic Minesteel Technologies manufactures high-performance mine skips engineered for reliable vertical haulage in all underground mining environments. Our standard arc gate and bottom dump skips deliver dependable performance across most applications. For specialized shaft profiles or loading conditions, we also offer Sala, front dump, and Kimberley-style skips, each configured to your site-specific needs.
Every skip is fabricated from aluminum, steel, stainless steel, or hybrid material combinations for optimal durability and strength-to-weight efficiency. Our advanced design eliminates common failure points like cracked seams in aluminum construction, ensuring long-term performance and reduced maintenance.
Built for Harsh Mining Conditions
NMT’s mining conveyances are engineered to perform reliably in highly corrosive underground environments in hard rock and soft rock mines. Our designs incorporate galvanic isolation, sacrificial anodes, and smart material selection to prevent degradation from dissimilar metals. To further protect against moisture, high salinity, elevated pH, and other corrosive factors, we utilize an advanced coating rated for more than 10,000 hours of salt-spray resistance. To manage impact and abrasion, we apply a range of rubber dampening systems and high-Brinell steel liners, extending service life and reducing maintenance intervals. We also continually monitor independent wear patterns throughout the conveyance lifecycle to optimize liner performance and proactively address site-specific abrasion conditions.

The low-maintenance workhorse of the mining industry with a quick-change bucket design allows fast bucket change-out for minimal downtime. Liners can be changed safely and conveniently away from the shaft, and it is ideal for wet, sticky, and uncrushed material.
Kimberly skip
Low maintenance with the best payload-to-weight ratio with slower dumping; makes it economical and ideal for smaller operations.

We offer two-guide, four-guide, and rope-guide systems, along with single, double, and triple deck configurations. Safety mechanisms are available for wood, steel, and rope guides (excluding Canada), as well as standard door types and counterweighted guillotine doors. With options in aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, there are numerous customizable features to meet your specific design needs.
Auxiliary/Egress cages
Auxiliary and egress cages provide dependable transport for personnel, tools, and emergency response needs throughout the mine.
